With only 5 ingredients [heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, sugar+salt], no cooking required, this has gotta be the simplest ice cream recipe ever. I mixed the milk mixture overnight and then I churn this up with my good old Cuisinart ice cream maker for around 25 minutes and added around 8 crumbled Oreo cookies in it. This is a perfect work break type of activity, I did the first part yesterday and have something to look forward to today. I imagine you can make this as a base and swirl in whatever kind of your favorite toppings in the batch. You should see a soft peak like below after 20 minutes of churning.

Now right after the churning is done, the ice cream batch is not frozen solid. It gives a gelato texture. You can enjoy it right away if you prefer a softer texture. But if you want to serve it in round scoops, do give your batch of ice cream a few hours of freezing time and then you are good to go.
